As many of you know we are headed to the National Finals Rodeo to premier our new western line! Designing this line has been the most rewarding thing we've done so far. It is truly a reflection of all we hold dear and we've loved all the input from friends and family. One our favorite things in life is antiquing for the china and other found objects we use in our jewelry. In my blog I'm going to start telling you about some of the wonderful places I've found along the way to shop!
I'm going to start with my favorite little "Cowboy" store in Checotah, Oklahoma. Yep! The home of American Idol winner Carrie Underwood ,who by the way, ain't in Checotah anymore. Her picture is though. It's everywhere! Even a giant billboard on I-40. You can't miss the exit. The shop is called CHECOTAH MARKET PLACE. It's right on the main street as you come into town at 130 S. Broadway and it's chalked full of antiques and cowboy collectibles. The nicest people you'll ever want to meet own the store, Barbara and Troy Clay.
We shopped their store on our way out to the east coast and begged them to hold all the treasures until we came back through. They obliged us by holding it two weeks. They had no idea how high maintenance I can be! These folks met us at the store at night and let us shop till nearly midnight! Barbara has the best collection of cowboy cookie jars and old sterling cowgirl jewelry! She even let us use some of her private collection to cast for our new line. You'll all get to see these pieces on our western web site soon.
SO! Next time you're rolling down I-40 stop in and visit with these fine folks. You'll know why people always tell me when I'm out traveling the world ...........
"The nicest people I've ever met were from Oklahoma"

By far the best part of this job is the SHOPPING!!!! I've got so many favorite stops I could write a book. Maybe that's what I'll do in my next career! New and Used Antiques in Greenup, Il. is a must stop and shop when you're out on I-70 East. It's not too far from Saint Louis and the selection is worth the stop. Cathy is knowledgeable about everything in the store and "BUTCH" her dog is just plain loveable! Come visit them both and enjoy the hospitality..........

Thank you for making the show such a huge success and I look forward to seeing you all in the spring in Salt Lake City!
I love seeing all these families come year after year together!

For years Michelle Dalton was the glue that held this ship together. When you called Vintage Revival she was the voice of this company, sweet and always ready to assist you. When I moved back to my home state of Oklahoma a few years ago she was the only sad thing about the whole deal. BUT!! She was getting married to a great guy and I knew she was going to be very happy. Many of you that have shopped with us for years are always asking how she is doing so, here is the latest news flash!!!!
Evie is a beautiful, happy baby girl to the delight of her older brother Josh. Michelle and husband Roy have recently moved their family to Pennsylvania where we started this company over 10 years ago! She is back near her family where her children can grow up with their cousins. For all of you that have been asking here is a picture of the baby and I will try to keep you updated as time goes by with new ones.
MICHELLE WE ALL MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Talk about growing pains!!! We've only been in our new facility for 2 years and this summer we doubled our space! We've added a 200 square foot, glassed in, sound proof cutting room and 1600 Square feet of warehouse just for the china. Finally we can see what patterns we have at a glance!

AQS, Opryland, Nashville……. Visiting my little brother! It doesn’t get any better than this. AQS was the best ever this year. If any of you are even thinking about attending this show next year it’s a must do! It is always an easy show to do thanks to the hard work by the AQS staff. Queeny Jenny is always there sharing the LOVE with her subjects. Notice her new braces….excuse me…….”Teeth Tiara”! I am so jealous!

I know, I know, I haven’t updated my blog in months!!!! I have no excuse except you! This has been the most extraordinary 6 months of my life. REALLY! We have doubled the sales goal we set for this first 6 months of the year and we have more than doubled the size of our studio and offices. With that, our custom order delivery time has gone from 4 to 6 weeks to 90 days. (There is always a down side to rapid growth!)
This year most vendors are telling us at shows that things have been slower this year. Thanks to our loyal collectors this has not been our experience. Some of you have actually told me you’ve bought a special jewelry box or piece of furniture to store your collection in! I love it when you tell me you have more of my jewelry than I do!!! I feel certain now that someday when I am gone that the little crown over cross mark on the back of the jewelry will like on forever. That is my goal… to leave a little mark on this world that will be induring…. that will say I was here and I made folks happy!

What a treat the Jinny Beyer’s trunk show was!! Jinny’s shop is located in beautiful Great Falls, Virginia in a quaint shopping area at 776 Walker Road, Suite F (as in fabulous!) Any quilter would be in fabric heaven in Jinny’s shop. She’s known for her classy designs and everything in her store says quality. We are so proud to be represented there among Jinny’s designs and other artist treasures she has collected in her travels. Her staff are all quilters themselves and can help you pick from the huge array of color pallets
Jinny’s historic home and incredible gardens were the highlight of the trip. She is the main focus of a garden tour each spring when the roses are all in bloom. I can see where she actually LIVES in the inspiration of her fabric collections! The focus of her garden is a walk through quilt block. It's breathtaking!!!

Minneapolis Quilt Market was a blast! We opened lots of new accounts and made lots of new friends. Some of our old friends were the biggest surprise though! Like my favorite little church lady that came to give us an eyewitness account of the SEXPO going on downstairs in the same convention hall! She did go incognito…………….

If you want to see the most beautiful outdoor garden show, Cincinnati is the one. Situated on the shores of lake Como at Coney Island in Cincinnati, it’s a stroll in the park in the first breaths of spring.
Every year I look forward to this show and seeing some of my most avid collectors. Many of you have collected for over 10 years and many of you have started having us change your original solder pieces to sterling silver. So yes, bring them along to the next show in your area and we WILL update them!
This is a great show for a Mother/daughter outing or a girl’s weekend. If you need information go to their web site at www.cincyflowershow.com

Viva Las Vegas….Viva Las Vegas……sorry, I get carried away! It’s all the glitz, the glamour, the lights…..and the World Tea Expo! That’s right! Tea rooms and specialty tea shops converge on Las Vegas for their very own wholesale market and expo. Talk about a niche! We truly have a customer base here that loves our “Broken China Jewelry”. We have developed the greatest group of retailers from this market that just keep re-ordering all year long. They love our custom work for their customers with their own family china.

Every year when I return to the Lancaster show I’m flooded with memories of my 10 years spent in Amish country. Lancaster was my first quilt show and after all these years it’s still my favorite! I get to see my old friends and Annette Baker, who I love and who has helped me learn so much about perseverance and being true to yourself. Collectors here remember me from the days of my humble beginnings in solder to the glory days in sterling! It’s been a great journey….Thank you!
Kaye England found the perfect piece for herself. A wonderful English piece that had a knight on a horse and it said "THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN ENGLAND". Yes Kaye.....there WILL always be an England! Quilting enthusiast and wonderful cousin and booth help, Peggy Smiley was thrilled to meet Kaye for the first time.

When I decided to get back to my Western Oklahoma roots and design a new line for the modern “COWGIRL” (or the want-a-be) I knew turquoise would be a huge part of the collection. Being the overachiever I am, I set out to teach myself the difference between quality turquoise and imitation, stabilized and unstabilized, natural American mines and import, calibrated, dyed, etc., etc………. WHAT A TRIP!!!!!!!!
The best place to start that journey was the TUCSON GEM SHOW. The largest gem show in the world! After a week of shopping thousands of booths I knew just what I wanted. What else…….THE BEST!
I am so in love with the stone now I want to wear it every day.
